What is the North Carolina Ride to Honor?

Since 2007, Law Enforcement officers from Mecklenburg County and beyond have gathered each May to ride bicycles 500 miles over four days from Charlotte to Washington, DC as a part of Bike to DC. At the completion of the ride we attended the Candlelight Vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC. For 2021 the ceremonies in DC have been cancelled. This year we will ride within NC to agencies that recently lost an officer in the line of service. From the start in Charlotte and all along the way we are joined by fellow officers and citizens from towns and cities on the route who ride with us to show support for our cause - a ride in honor and memory of those who have died in the line of duty. Though the journey is not easy, each mile is a tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. .
